Oval Track

The 700 metre Oval Sand Track was designed by the former curator of Royal Randwick Racecourse, the late George Johnston OAM and is ideal for both left and right-handed running as well as uphill and downhill galloping.  Together with the 800m Uphill Track which operates on a gradient of two degrees with multiple entry and exit points, this provides for a total run of up to 1500 metres and the optimal platform for the delivery of pre-training outcomes to trainer specifications.

Uphill Track

The 800 metre Uphill Sand Track was designed with the assistance of Mr Shane Willoughby based on his experience at the “Hidaka” track in Japan and US tracks in California, Kentucky and Florida.  Adjoining the 700m Oval Track and operating on a gradient of two degrees with multiple entry and exit points, this provides for a total run of up to 1500 metres and the optimal platform for the delivery of pre-training outcomes to trainer specifications.

Pre-Training Yards

Featuring 35 individual pre-training yards, each with their own shelters and shade from the trees, horses are able to transition seamlessly from spelling to pre-training and back to the stable in preparation for their return to the race-track.  Yards are rotated weekly to ensure that there is always a green pick available for horses in work.  Our yards are also suitably sized for horses recovering from post-operative surgery, tendon injuries and/or medical complaints as required.

Spelling Yards

Featuring 36 individual spelling paddocks, each with their own shelter and feeding facilities, horses can escape the harshness of the natural elements and relax in a serene rural environment with plentiful shade from the trees. Safe post and rail electric fencing and a weekly paddock rotation schedule ensures that there is always a fresh green pick for every horse.
